PPST Mission
We believe in the importance of parenting and in building strong families. We believe parenthood should not be a mistake, entered into without a spouse, without education, without economic security, or emotional maturity. Our mission is to ensure that all members of our community have access to affordable family planning, education, and medical services, so that every child is born wanted and loved.
- Services Medical services are provided at two clinic locations in Corpus Christi. Services include physical exams, cervical and breast cancer screening, pregnancy testing, testing for sexually transmitted infections including HIV, screening for diabetes and hypertension, counseling and referral. FDA approved birth control methods are available through pharmacies located at each clinic. All services are confidential except where reporting is required by state law. Parental consent is strongly encouraged but not required.
- Clinic Clients Served PPST serves approximately 10,000 women and men each year. The majority of our patients are between the ages of 20-30 years.
- Fees Services are provided on a sliding scale basis, based on income and family size. Many clients qualify for free or low cost services at the clinic on Dillon Lane. Medicaid and Womens' Health Care clients welcomed. Staff will assist in completing applications for free/low cost services. All services available while applications are pending. Cash, checks, credit cards accepted.
- Community Education Programs Our community education programs provide current and factual information about family planning and reproductive health to individuals, families, schools, faith-based groups, community agencies, and businesses. Most programs are provided through collaborative partnerships at no cost and tailored to meet the needs of each audience. PPST educators provide over 2,000 presentations annually to over 80,000 participants.
- Community Support PPST is funded through grants, private donations, Title XX Family Planning Funds, Medicaid, and patient fees.
